well, my band(me and the drummer:( ) just recorded this a couple of weeks ago. Thing is, we don't have any money to go into a recording studio and I don't think we're ready for it yet. Well, I just wanted some help to make the tracks a little better sounding, there's a bit of a problem thou, we recorded the drums in one track (since we don't have a lot of equipment to record everything in its own track) so it makes it harder to get a better mix, but any input will be well aprecciated, thanks a lot. Questions are welcome too!!!:)

Invest in a tape 4-track and a mic. You both can come up with 50 bucks and get something useable. This will give you multi track capability. After everything is on tape you can send it to your sound card via the "Tape Out" L & R (found on every 4-track) and a simple RCA to 1/8th inch available for 2 bucks at radio shack. You're going to have to spend some money.

When I said that drums are on only one track. I meant that every part of the drum set was mic'ed and then mixed with my 8-channel mixer on the spot, and then directly to my laptop's soundcard. I would like to get a multitrack interface to record every drum and cymbal in its own track and then do a better mix. But thanks for the advice.
The drums sound pretty good. Your levels (mix) are good, and the kick and the snare come in clear, which is vital. You can tell the drummer has a really great kit. Some more cymbals, and a hard pan left and right to each overhead mic (once you get a stereo setup) could make a big difference.
I can't hear any bass, though. It's really important to a track to have it up there in the middle with the drums. I hear a lot of bass from the guitars (you might recognize a kind of 'muddy' sound), which is probably the problem. Run the guitars through a hi pass filter, run the bass through a lo pass, and you should have a more even mix.
You guys have an interesting sound, I'd really like to hear a song with vocals.

Ok I'm so tired of this. Everytime I go on someone's MySpace for a band, I can never hear the song. I click play, and it loads, then I can see the little bars moving, indicating the song is playing, but I hear nothing. Every once in a while it works. Does anyone know what's going on?
I really want to hear you're recordings.:)

Yeah, Myspace can be that annoying sometimes, you can try this link Pure volume (http://www.purevolume.com/kurochan)
Make sure you first select the track, put it on pause and let the song buffer first (you can play it when the white bar is all full), or you can just download it from there.:)

Hey thanks for the input!!! Yeah, well, I recorded the bass parts with a crappy bass (I don't own one myself) and I couldn't find decent mics for the guitar parts, and yes we are planning on recording the vocals soon, I'll keep you guys updated.
p.d. Yeah, drummer has a pretty decent kit, he spends a lot of time trying to tune it well.
Do not low-pass the bass.

I heard you should (almost) always run a low-pass on guitar tracks
WRONG. You're confusing low CUT with low PASS.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low_pass_filter
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-pass_filter
You use a low pass filter to isolate the bass guitar's stronger frequencies, i.e. the bass frequencies, and you use a HIGH pass filter to cut the bass sound out of the guitar.
If you're going to contradict someone, at least take the time to explain yourself. Otherwise it's just annoying.
uh the link didn't work for me but here's my two cents:
re guitar low passing. yer moo is right, don';t low pass it, high pass it at about 40hz or a little more, so you remove low rumbley *****. EQing; rarley add anything, just remove, compress subtly (unless it's the effect you're goign for etc) there's loads of lierature on getting a good guitar sound but it helps if you use a good guitar with good leads, microphone/DI/both amplifier etc. avoid clipping at all costs!
drums: uh again i duno what im listnign for, everyone seemed to say they're okay, but anyway. kick compress and EQ (EQ it so it dosn't classh with bass guitar) snares - compress, roll off low end, lil' rev *if* nec. overheads pan apart, don't tpuch. group everything in a bus and compress it all together.
again there's tonnes of stuff about, buy sound on sound one month. future music are running articles aboout recording guitar atm anyway.
