What do I need to run cubase?

I'm setting up a small studio to do some home recording and writing of a solo project.

I'm getting a computer and I'm wondering what I need to run cubase (such as RAM, Speed, Soundcard) etc.

Any other advise anyone can give would be appreciated. I haven't actually used cubase before, although we've used to to record my band a lot. Does cubase have effects, drum samples etc? Would I be better off with Pro Tools? Like I say, advise would be appreciated.

If you look on the steinberg website you can find the system requirements. You definitely need a sound card with a good ASIO driver. The reqs are probably something like 1.66ghz and 512MB ram
