WHat kind of distortion sound is?

Ok there is this distortion sound I have heard before, but I don't know what pedals out there make it. The best way I can explain it is that song Smash Mouth had called Walking On The Sun. I love the guitar sound in that, something like a half calked wah or something only a distortion pedal all it's own.

Are you sure that isn't a keyboard?

Fun Fact: Smash Mouth doesn't have a bassist, their keyboardist plays bass on his keyboard.

I read somewhere that it was 2 Compressors in series with 2-3 Dist. pedals in series and an old low -wattage SS combo amp with a "strategically" ripped speaker.

I was a DOD Classic fuzz, a DOD Wah, and a 10 watt tube amp cracked with a 8 inch speaker.

I have the guitar rag beside me(why did I every buy these pieces of ass? Seriously they all suck.)
