hey ppl... I have been thinking alot about getting some pedals, like Big Muff and ALSO a BOSS bass overdrive... is it possible to let the overdrive pedal to some settings so it sounds like i just turned up the volume on the amp? like settings that just make the bass sound LOUDER?

Why not just get a volume pedal. That would probably work well if that's the effect you're trying to get. Maybe there's another pedal that would do this also, but I think a volume pedal would work.

So do you just want the low end to be louder or do you want your whole signal boosted? A fair amount of OD pedals can boost your overall sound. If you are trying to boost the bass (like the opposite of a treble booster) you could try turning the tone knob down, but that will probably cut your highs. An eq pedal would work nicely by raising the bass frequencies and the overall volume.

You can use a BOSS bass overdrive for just that. In the little booklet that comes along gives you a setting for using the ODB as a bassboster. I use my own one at the moment as just that. If I remember correctly I think my setting is volume at one o'clock, bass eq-knob at five (max) and treble eq-knob at two, two-thirty, balance at ten-eleven o'clock and gain at seven (nothing, or maybe a little dirt). But if this settings will work for you I don't know, you'll have to try. I have a tube head that I recently changed tubes in and got a totally different sound afterwards (the guy who change them turned the bias down so I have to turn it up a bit, there's no feedback whatsoever nowadays).

An eq-pedal will do kind of the same thing, I just got bored and stopped using mine!

The Big Muff works for bass but I think the sound gets a little muddy when plugged in
