Pot Problem

I got a 2006 Squier Jazz Bass and the Neck Volume pot came loose, i tightened it and it suddenly stopped working. Is this a problem with pots in general or just the ones squier uses?

One of the wires connected to the pot has probably snapped when you tightened it. As the pot is loose under the pickguard, if you tighten it without locking it somehow, it can happen. Should be an easy fix. Check for any loose wires and resolder them. I think Seymour Duncan (www.seymourduncan.com) has wiring schematics on their website.

Thanks. I'll check that out. I should have also mentioned that pulling up on the knob makes it work.
