Would 'YOU' chuck Page into the same sonic "LPintoMarshall" tone/sound as the above mentioned two ?

Just curious.

Dave Grohl's recording axe is an old Trini Lopez model, which is close to a 335. Most folks using 335's don't run them into Mesa Rectifiers though.

Joe Perry and Slash are interesting because, if memory serves, they have different sounds despite having used the same guitar; Both of them once owned the same '59 Les Paul.

Page's inclusion in the Les Paul/Marshall club is based solely on his live rigs; he recorded with a telecaster and supro more often than not

And Joe Perry records with every model of guitar and amp ever manufactured, and brings about half of it on the road.

He's a major gear whore to be sure. Wikipedia claims he owns over 600

Yeah, they're each children of the one before. I'm much more in-love with early Zeppelin though, so that's what I base my opinion on. Not that I think anyone's a rip-off, it's more an evolution to my ears. Also later Thayil (after 1993) sounds a hell of alot like Zeppelin too on some leads...

I think Slash and Perry sound immensely similar. Then again, I'm not so nutty about Guns & Roses and definantly not so about Velvet Revolver, so he does alot that I miss. He said he learned by listening to Aerosmith songs and trying to replicate what he heard, so style might be more then gear when it comes to similarities.

I wonder if anyone told Perry you can get a different sound out of the same guitar

John Frusciante and Dave Navarro during their respective Chili Pepper stints.

John's basic Peppers rig and Dave's Peppers rig are pretty similar (down to the same distortion pedal) and they sounded worlds different. They even played the same songs for the most part.
