Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age

what does he use? i think he uses Gretsch (SP?) hollow body guitars and he might have a fuzzface in his setup somewheres.

cubby is on a distinguished road
I'm sure it has been covered ad nauseum but I know he has mainly used an Ovation Electric.

I think he gets all his distortion from his Ampeg amps, I'm not aware of him ever using any pedals, I think he uses a Tubescreamer for solos. I've heard him say he likes to mess with his amp settings during shows instead of use pedals. his main guitar is a Maton.

no they're not. his main guitars are modded ovation electrics. live he sometimes uses an epiphone dot, never saw him live with matons nor gretsch. the overdrive he uses is a boss sd1 or od3. he also has an ernie ball volume pedal and -i think- an a/b box or mute switch between the 2 boards to tune (i think i saw a tu2 in his board but also a rack tuner on his ampeg head...).

Could the "tu2" have been an LS2 line selector?

I'm fairly sure he also uses mesas.

his main guitar is an rare ovation GP, only made a few and bought them at pawnshops, they are tuned in C F A# D# G c with DiMarzio pickups

his main amps (he uses 3 of them) are VT-22 ampegs with 2x12 cabs. and sometimes he uses 2 white ampeg V-4's with white 4x12" cabs.

his fx's are at least a korg tuner, a sd-1 and a bass micro synth, a vox wha, a chorus and some delay.

with Kyuss he used big tube works amps or something like that...
