D'arcy played bass on BWBW (Unless Billy deleted her take and recorded his own.... ha.)

Darcy played:

1975 Fender Jazz Bass Reissue
Fender Precision Bass
Mesa/Boogie Amp (Not sure what kind)

Back in the day of bullet with butterfly wings (Mellon Collie) Darcy Wretzky was the bassist backthen..

I hardly ever saw her with anything else than a Fender Jazz Bass

Yep- D'Arcy was the bass player, and Melissa was NOT on Machina album- she only did the tour. Rumor has it that Billy played the bass parts on some (most?) of the albums anyway.

...

AFAIK, Billy played and sang almost every note on Siamese Dream (except for maybe the Iha-penned intro to Mayonaise?). I'm unsure about what went on in the studio as far as Gish goes. I have a seen a bunch of documentary footage that leads me to believe that James and D'arcy were a bit more involved with Mellon Collie/Adore, but there is no way to know for sure. Many people will tell you that Billy Corgan is a master of overdubbing the works of his bandmates. I would not be surprised to find out that some of my favorite recordings from any of the Corgan projects are just him and Chamberlin playing. Just ask Matt Sweeney/David Pajo from Chavez/Papa M (respectively) about their work in Zwan. Some of the best guitarlines were reduced to a dull roar, only to be overpowered by the characteristic Corgan fuzz... kind of a waste.. same with Paz Lenchantin's way-too-low-in-the-mix backup vocals...
