Taking a stab at modelling some of the best vintage pedals is one tall task, but Line 6 has always amazed us with their noble attempts. Vintage modulation freaks may have a gripe here or there about the individual effects, but to us, most of these models are absolutely stunning in terms of warmth and overall realism. Highly tweakable parameters can yield varying results but we were able to dial up something pleasing on nearly every patch. We were very impressed by the various tremolos and choruses. The tremolos had a usable rate range and that little woomph at the crest of the wave to give it that pseudo-Fender flair. The choruses were wide and spacious and had that smooth crisp shimmer we are always looking for. I’m sure each of you will gravitate towards your own “pet” effect on the MM4, just don’t be surprised if you find a few new ones here. |
