Fender was never too well known for their effects units but this one stands out as their best. The Blender is a naughty little fuzz box that literally screams with the best if them. The fuzz is thick and wide with the buzzing voice of a detuned chainsaw. It's grainy with just enough girth to liven up just about any old amplifier. Tack on the bizzare octave/ringmodulator effect and you'll see why this one stands out in the fuzz history books. Tracking is a little tricky in the lower registers but it literally sings further up the fretboard. When pegged, it's a pretty sick sounding effect that can completely consume a song or make an audience wince. Back it off a bit and this adds just the right amount of that otherwordly something or other to liven up a sterile riff or plain passage. These are rare birds, so be ready to do some hunting. |
