This is the working man's phaser. The Phase 100 tackles a ton of phaser and uni-vibe-esque sounds and does them all very well. This unit isn't nearly as subtle as the buttery Phase 45 or as obvious as the fluid Phase 90 but covers that middle ground where most phasers fall short. One knob provides control over the rate and the other switches between intensity modes. Each mode has its' own unique voice and gives you access to multitude of great sounds. Compared to the slick sheen of most phasers, the Phase 100 really sticks out in terms of warmth and quality. With all the obvious phase combinations we had at our fingertips, we gravitated towards the softer vibrato-esque settings with their light and watery wiggles. The effect is absolutely gorgeous on gentle leads or mellow chords and this is where the Phase 100 really shines.
