One of the biggest complaints amoung wah users is the annoying trip to the toe portion of the wah you have to take just to engage the effect. Morley has long since solve that issue with their switchless optical system. It's a joy to simply step on the pedal for the wah mode and step off to get out. It works like a dream. Not having to visit that shrill part of the sweep simple and is Morley's big selling point. Soundwise, the Morley's have always had their own non-vintage voice that has appealed to more modern-minded players. We've always felt Morleys were best for solo-heavy guys with it's short sweep and ultra-fast response. You won't get those deep mid-range Wacka-Wackas of the Dunlops or Vox models, but rather a smooth Wow-Wow which seems perfectly suited for quick frills and lightning quick excursions on the neck. We'd say the Bad Horsie is better for frills rather than funk. |
