This versatile pedal has a very unique voice in the crunchy overdrive and distortion spectrum. By being able to blend the stock sounds of a Boss DS-1 Distortion and the Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive, this pedal can either bring on the blues or summon up some death metal. Both tones are cool on their own but with some small tweaks to the blend knob, this little fella comes alive. This wonder knob adds a small dose of each effect to the other and allows for some serious tone shaping. If your distortion lacks some wamth you can add some overdrive or, if your overdrive lacks some edge, you can add some distortion. Add to all this flexibilty, a massive ouput section, and you’ve got a pedal that can inflict any amount of volume or tonal damage to you unsuspecting amp, or audience. If you’ve only got the cash for one pedal but need acces to a few flavors of grit, the OS-2 is a great choice.
