A modern take on the classic Vox Wah-Wah of the sixties. Budda seems to have captured the sonic spirit of the original Vox but managed to improved the original's stifling frequency range. What you end up with is a very expressive unit that has just enough mid-range meatyness to make those wah spasms really jump out in a mix. Budda has certainly found that elusive sweet spot that most hard-core wah afficianados are always searching for. This may explain why the Bud-Wahs find their way onto many a pro's pedalboard. Top the sound off with a true bypass switch and road worthy components and you've got a great wah. It's a pricey little number but well worth the investment considering you probably won't be doing any wah shopping after trying this one out. Fans of Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Kenny Wayne Shepard should be pleased with the tonal similarities found here. |
