This playful tremolo re-issue remains true to the original 1973 version. The enormous metal housing has that unique splash of vibrant colors and bubbly lettering that stands out on a stage usually reserved for of tiny pastel-colored pedals. Just like the original, the Colorsound Tremolo gives off that choppy and aggressive Vox-like vibe. It has a little more bite and and a heavier pulse than what you'd expect from, say, a Fender tremolo. Blues purists and Surf nuts may have some small gripes with the sound, but for those of us raised on British Invasion stuff, this is like music to our ears. The standard Rate and Depth knobs handle a wide range of subtle variations from slow swells to hellicopter splatters. Construction is tough and the low-profile design makes for ultra-easy stomping, just makes sure you have enough real estate on your pedalboard for its bigger dimensions. |
